A Large crowd of supporters, family, and friends braved the cold temperatures to attend Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight's much anticipated formal announcement of his intention to seek a second term at UAW Local 685.

During his first term, Mayor Goodnight inherited a $5 million city deficit that will be a $7 million surplus by next year; preserved automotive jobs in the face of the worst recession since the Great Depression; and showcased the positive virtues City of Kokomo around the county and the world.

Mayor Greg Goodnight said during his announcement, "When we took office, the City was operating with a $5 million dollar deficit. The nation was descending into the worst recession since the Great Depression. Now, we are making Kokomo a better place to live without increasing taxes or adding service fees. During a historic recession, we vowed to do everything possible to make sure local government would not make Kokomo families' hardships worse." Read on...
